Pirates of the Caribbean is Back!

January 23, 2010

Yes! Woke up to this great news today! One of my favorite show of all time, Pirates of the Caribbean is back. Part 4, which will be called Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, will be released in Summer 2011.

This will be a star-studded show. Not only will Johnny Depp be back, a whole new cast of stars will be featured here. Some of them are: John Travolta, Robert Zemeckis, Jerry Bruckheimer, Nicholas Cage and Miley Cyrus.

Wow! I can’t wait to watch it. I already have all 3 movies in Blu-ray. Will definitely watch it on the big screen and buy the Blu-ray version too.

In the meantime, I am going to wear my skull cufflinks for the next few days just as a conversation piece!

Roger Federer The Greatest Tennis Player Of All Time

July 6, 2009

Roger Federer surpassed Pete Sampras as the greatest tennis player after he won his 15th Grand Slam title at Wimbledon. His match against Andy Roddick was a classic which ended at 5-7, 7-6 (8-6), 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, 16-14. The last set was also the longest ever played in a men’s Wimbledon final.

However, the title did not come easy for Federer who had to battle long and hard for it. At one point, Roddick led by a set, had 4 set points in the second set and didn’t drop serve until the final game.

With this win, Federer moved back to claim the world No. 1 spot from Rafael Nadal.

Different Types of Bosses

June 27, 2009

What kind of boss do you have at work? Many people have told me that, it is highly important that you to have good and kind bosses. I can’t agree more to that. In my entire career life so far, I have had pretty decent and fair bosses. One thing I noticed about some of these successful bosses is that while they are kind, decent and fair, they are also firm when it comes to work-related issues.

There are many types of BAD bosses in this world. I can name quite a few just from the top of my head. The one that stands out most is the incompetent boss that does not know his stuffs and manage to get to that position either through connections or pure luck. They usually talk a lot and seem very busy or to be working very hard. However, most of the time, there are no substantial outputs from them. These bosses are impossible to work with and you will definitely be frustrated in no time.

The other bad boss that I can think of is the “I’m always right” boss. These bosses will not listen to you and even if they do, they are just going through the motion and have already decided that you are wrong even before you start your point. Sadly, you will have a hard time contributing to the company in this scenario and will also most likely be very frustrated in the end.

Buy Low Sell High

June 21, 2009

What a mess the financial world has become. I have been reading about it but could hardly understand much of the situation.

What are CDOs? CDS? TARP? Subprime? What’s goin’ on?!!

Wall Street has always lived by the mantra that more is good. More money. More power. Buy low sell high. Make lotsa money. At whatever cost to others.

Alas, for the rest of us… all these credit default swap mumbo jumbo is just too much to handle. I would keep it simple. Simply with these buy low sell high cuff links, they should give you the inspiration to pursue your dreams of being wealthy.

These are the perfect pair of cuff links for anyone who is starting a business, or working in the trading function.
