Did the French really invented the cufflinks?

What are your thoughts on this? A good friend of mine, Jean told me the other day that it was the French was invented the cufflinks. He even boasted that without the French, the world’s fashion will not be as advanced as it is now.

Well, for a true red, white and blue like yours truly, I tend to be more American centric in my views of things. I know the French, Italians are fashion powerhouses, but New York is AT LEAST on par with them, if not better!

So faithful readers…,

1. Did the French really invented the cufflinks?

2. Do you think NY is ahead of Paris and Milan with regards to fashion taste/sense?

Pirates of the Caribbean is Back!

Yes! Woke up to this great news today! One of my favorite show of all time, Pirates of the Caribbean is back. Part 4, which will be called Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, will be released in Summer 2011.

This will be a star-studded show. Not only will Johnny Depp be back, a whole new cast of stars will be featured here. Some of them are: John Travolta, Robert Zemeckis, Jerry Bruckheimer, Nicholas Cage and Miley Cyrus.

Wow! I can’t wait to watch it. I already have all 3 movies in Blu-ray. Will definitely watch it on the big screen and buy the Blu-ray version too.

In the meantime, I am going to wear my skull cufflinks for the next few days just as a conversation piece!

Remembering 9/11

It has been 8 years since the tragic attack on the twin towers on 9/11/2001. I still remember that day very well. Back then I was a graduate student at Thunderbird in Glendale, AZ. I woke up in the morning as usual and proceeded to the bathroom to brush my teeth. My dorm mate saw me and quickly informed me of the incident. I rushed back to my room to switch on the TV and saw the replays of the attacks. No words could describe the horror and shock I felt back then.

I remember a period where everything was pro-America in the months after the attack. GM and Ford had their buy American automobiles at no or low interest rates. Sales of Dodge and Cadillac rose while foreign marquees suffered in terms of sales. Everywhere else, people were flying the American flag in unity while they mourned for those who perished.

This year, Cufflinks2Wear.com is honoring our unsung heroes, the police, fire brigades, healthcare workers & volunteers, and even the commoners who helped to save lives during that period. May the Spirit of America lives on for eternity.
